William Sommers, Ed.D

A former high school principal, co-director of the Urban Leadership Academy, Program Manager at SEDL, and author of numerous articles and books including Being a Principal: Riding the Wave of Change Without Drowning, Energizing Staff Development Using Film Clips, and Leading Professional Learning Communities (co-authored with Shirley Hord). For over 15 years Bill has consulted with districts, schools and businesses, and presented at conferences. He has been on NSDC's Board of Trustees since 2003.

 He presently resides in the Austin, Texas area.
