Adventures of a Women-owned Business

Anne and I had the extraordinary opportunity of participating as one of 24 women-owned companies (selected out of over 100) to present to investors in NYC. Springboard Enterprises https://www.springboardenterprises.org/about is the organizing group, and through them we've discovered a wonderful community of support. These are women who are passionate about making positive change in the world, whether through advanced traffic management systems, connecting women to "best of" brands, or like us, transforming American public education. Springboard Enterprises, led by Amy Millman, teamed with All Things Media, led by Kay Koplovitz, to create a once in a lifetime experience for all of us. We were wined and dined at Martha Stewart's corporate headquarters, informed by Google's VP of Marketing & Research, and were even asked to close the NASDAQ! Throughout the process we were coached by the best in the business. On the final day, October 30, Anne wowed the audience with a powerful presentation of our long-term dream: Technology for creating a truly student-owned learning environment. Throughout all of this I kept thinking about how the experience was helping us value what we have to offer, bringing us to a new place of confidence and assurance. The experience was truly life-changing. Have you ever had an opportunity to share your dream in a community of like-minded individuals? What was the effect on the community? What was the effect on you? I would love to hear your story!
