Glenda Cosenza, Ph.D

Glenda is Associate Professor of Music Education and Coordinator of the Music Education program for Northern Illinois University. Before starting to teach methods and research courses at the university level in 1996, she taught public and private school music in New York and New Jersey in grades K-6 and in an ungraded school for gifted learning disabled students. Her doctorate is from Temple University (1996). Her research interests have been consistently focused on the relationships among aspects of music learning as they inform and enhance learning in other disciplines, notably writing (language arts) in the primary grades, and art (form, color, and gesture).
