Barb Hagens, Ph.D

Barb Hagens recently retired after providing school improvement leadership in seven different Wisconsin school districts. She has served as a Director of Instructional Services, teacher, and building administrator. Her central office experience involved creating the systemic structures and collaboration necessary to align school improvements to achieve strategic goals. With a strategic S.M.A.R.T. focus, her last district advanced 3rd grade achievement from below the state average to a 97% proficiency level. Barb holds a Doctorate degree in Educational Administration from UW- Madison . In addition to her consulting practice, she is an adjunct faculty member for Cardinal Stritch University and UW-Madison.

In addition to these professional roles, her most important role in life is being the mother of two teenagers and the wife of a middle school teacher, all of whom often remind her what is educational “reality” and what is “theory.”
